# About Gameplay

Sherwood Smash is a survival run. The longer you stay alive, the harder the game gets and the more chances you have to stack score, XP, upgrades, and CASHCAT pickups

### Core Loop

1. Start a run from the launch menu
2. Move through the arena and kill enemies
3. Hold fire to shoot with the auto rifle
4. Clear the wave before the next countdown ends
5. Collect XP orbs and level up
6. Pick one upgrade whenever the level-up menu appears
7. Beat every 5th wave boss for extra XP and CASHCAT drops
8. When the run ends, save score and claim earned $CASHCAT when claiming is live

### Run Stats

| Stat                  | Current Value |
| --------------------- | ------------- |
| Player HP             | `100`         |
| Base movement speed   | `5`           |
| Base bullet damage    | `18`          |
| Base fire rate        | `9` shots/sec |
| Bullet speed          | `24`          |
| Base XP magnet radius | `8`           |

### What Ends a Run

A run ends when CashCat reaches `0` HP. The game then submits your score if a wallet was connected before the run, loads the leaderboard, and shows the CASHCAT claim panel if any unclaimed CASHCAT was collected

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://sherwood-smash.gitbook.io/sherwoodsmash/gameplay/about-gameplay.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
